Beginning Monday, May 17, the New Orleans Public Library will expand services, including allowing patrons to come into Library buildings without making appointments. There will be tables and chairs available to patrons.
Libraries will open at 10am every day, except Sunday when they are closed. Those who work 9-5 will be delighted to hear that the libraries will stay open until 6pm, except on Fridays and Saturdays when they close at 5pm.
One notable exception is MLK library serving the Lower Ninth Ward, which is only open for contactless pick-up and drop-off Monday and Wednesday 10am-1pm. Also, the Archives are still by appointment only.
Expect to see outdoor programming announced here as the libraries adjust to our new normal.
The library continues to provide free printing and "Take & Make" craft projects for children at all locations.
